Rourke, a towering berserker, is held against his will and has no choice but to fight in the arenas of the domes for the entertainment of the cityfolk who despise him.
Upon arrival, the warriors may choose a female who must assist them in everything. When it is the berserker's turn to choose, he sets his sights on a small woman who observes him with curiosity rather than fear and disgust.
Together with Remoundalia, a widow who has fallen into the hands of the arena's management, he must survive the dangers of the arena while making plans to escape.
